Kwon Kyoung-In
Abstract
This study aims to identify the double mediating effects of self-control and moral courage in the relationship between moral identity and ethical practice on the part of child counselors. The study targets 311 domestic children. The results of the study may be summarized as follows. Firstly, the moral identity of child counselors has been shown to have a positive effect on ethical practice behavior, self-control and moral courage. Secondly, the double mediating effect of self-control and mora l courage was identified as existing between moral identity and ethical practice. Thirdly, in terms of the indirect effect verification, moral courage was seen to have a complete mediating effect in relation to moral identity and ethical practice. These findings suggest that in order for child counselors to engage in ethical practice, they must develop self-control as a means of controlling their impulses and desires based on their moral identity and to also have the courage to practice ethical behavior despite the presence of external pressures.
